engine compatability

Hi,
I currently own a 1995 legacy L, 2.2L. I found a 1996 Legacy outback with very high milage but a great body, and wanted to maybe throw my 2.2 engine into the outback. I guess the automatic outbacks use a 2.5L engine... would it be a hard conversion to change to a 2.2? or would it be relitively plug and play.

thanks... so basically, its not easy to throw the 2.2 into the outback.
Maybe I'll get the outback anyways and try and fix it up and run it till she pukes. It has 297,000km on it
