I have constantly been hearing my car get louder and louder, and
sounding more and more like a poorly tuned honda. I know that there is
a hole just forward of the muffler of my 91 legacy L wagon. how much
should I expect to pay to get it done proffesionaly, and should I
order the part and do it myself. also is there a"performance exhaust
system" available for this car I havent seen one around, so I don't know.

i had a performance exhaust, full engine back system, on my previous N/A
Liberty. It did make a 'small' amount of difference but the increase in
noise became a pain. I returned the std exhaust back on.
On my Turbo liberty exhaust mods make a huge difference. Save your money on
a whole exhaust and replace the muffler alone .....ps. std muffler is a huge
restriction. I have a picture of a std muffler cut open if you want to see
the internals. Can forward it to you if you like.
cheers, Rod in Oz

Snow Guy-exactly where is the hole? If it`s in the 2-cat section, you`re in deep squat $ wise unless you can find someone to patch it (very hard to do on old, rusty pipe). Otherwise, you`ll have to replace that pricey section or go to an aftermarket system. Check out the MRT site for Legacy exhaust or Teague`s auto-both should be able to help . If it`s by the muffler, just have an exhaust shop fix it-easier & cheaper-good luck---ROD (AZ.)

Dave-go with the muffler shop idea. I have a Dynaflow muffler that has very low back pressure, is reasonably priced, but may be a little loud for you. Hopefully your shop can recommend the right one for your needs. Repair the pipe, get the proper muffler & you should see some good results. Good luck---ROD (AZ.)

I got a deal on a slighty used Super Sprint stainless steel made in
Italy from some one who had a unfortunate accident along with the
paper work on a lifetime warranty seems to work real good. Anyone ever
hear of it ?
