The subaru dealer put a used one on for me 2 months ago, they said they did it for me for free and that it was better then the one on there (they were doing the front seals-I think they dumped oil on the old one)... They told me this when I picked up the car.

Your dealer sucks, why would you ever reinstall a used belt?! Belts are cheap. Besides, you cant always tell condition from the outside.
