CEL Flashing on 5 MT

Post by tahiti350 »

Looking at a '90 AWD 5MT wagon, but the CEL is flashing, on-off-on-off... not a numeric, just a constant flash, about 1 second each.

I didn't check to see if the black or green connecters are connected (started raining as soon as I got there).

there are other elctrical issues (posted in teh electrical forum), but engine seems to run well, no smoke, no stumble or lag, starts clean, no funny noises, etc...

Per the FSM, that would appear to mean the ECU is in D-check (only test mode connector) or clear memory (both connectors connected) modes.

Ive left the connectors connected and its flashed like that. Had a "Doah!!" moment and un-connected them.
