phase 1 doch top end worth it?

Post by azn2nr »

ive been given the oppertuinity to buy a complete phase 1 doch top end (heads manifold rails and injectors) for 600 dollars. would it be worth the money and the hassle to attempt. and will in need to get engine management first?

I'm not familar with this so some of these questions might seem trivial. What kind of car do you have? What type of injectors? If they are higher flowing injectors then stock then they are easily worth the $600 because aren't the nismo injectors that fit our cars over $800? My guess is that some kind of engine management would be needed but I'm not really sure.

600$ seems kinda steep. Maybe for an entire motor, but not for heads and manifold.

That is a good price for all that stuff. You could run it on the stock ECU, but once you start to turn up the boost, you will need to address EM...

I will be in SLC for Thanksgiving. If you are working on this by then, I will be happy to come by and wrench for a few hours. regardless, we should meet up...

yeha um, this stuff wont be here till spring ath the earliest if at all. i know the kid that has the stuff and it shouldnt be goin anywhere soon. im praying to god that i can get my dp off by thanksgiving so i can get my fmic piped.

though im thinking about it there are a few things i want to do before. ie
pump
na rails and injectors.
custom tbe
standalone
touq converter rebuild for higher stall.
that and id need an engine stand, time and space. bascily if i get all that stuff and i still want to pursue building the engine further then ill swap the heads. i was just wondering if at any time it would be worth it. i should also say my target is 300 whp or mid 12 whichever comes first.
