Air/water intercooler question.
Just dropped in on this - The idea of using the engine coolant is not
a very good idea it will turn the intercooler into a interheater in
some cases. The separate system with a pump works very well. On
removing the vent pipe on the turbo Legacy I don't think I would do
that either,when the engine is shut down this vent pipe and the hood
scoop work in reverse the heated air rises and by convection it helps
cool down the turbo. On radiators, I found one at a friends
motorcycle junkyard. The radiators from Water cooled street bikes
seem to be plentiful and cheap the dirt bike radiators are scarce and
pricy. The one I have came off a Honda Gold Wing it fits nice and is
about the right size.
