You mean you want it flush with the outside of the trim, then. Because the trim on mine is flat and contacts perfectly with the piece I added. So either I was misunderstanding the gap you meant or they changed the trim a little.

Mine is beveled in slightly to a straight drop off. There is a noticeable gap that you can see in the second 2 pictures I posted. A dead flat meet to that bezel just wouldn't look good IMO. My glassed panel won't look OEM, but it'll look like nothing was ever there.

If you mix it hot, i.e. lots of hardner, and use a heat gun, the stuff will almost totally harden in about a half hour.

Im not quite understanding the reason to fiberglass this peice, I think Im gonna make mine outta stainless, but hey, its good practice right?

nice work mang.

I don't have time to take pics right now (about to go to a movie), but I got the body filler done and everything is sanded. I'll probably prime it when I get home from the movie and paint it in the morning before I go to work.

Looks friggin awesome, if I do say so myself. It's smooth as a baby's ass, and looks like nothing was ever there. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have a 3-D orbital sander though. That thing saved my arm.

If you don't want to use fleece, Wal-Mart also carries Bondo fiberglass mat and fiberglass cloth.

I have been looking around for fiberglass supplies, and so far Wal-Mart is the cheapest.

I'm planning on doing a larger hood scoop later this summer, since I will need it for the intercooler. :D

oh man... i just had an epiphany.... I could mount gauges INSIDE my 1.5 din pocket.... That way they'd still be stealth, but easily accessible

Sure could Laurel, but I'd try to flip the pocket upside down so the lid wouldn't be in the way when you wanted to look at 'em. That might interfere with the shifter, but since it's an auto, maybe not.

Not only that, but having the lid open/down would block the head unit, if it's even moved to the lower DIN position. :P

Ok, now I see what you are talking about. That is going to be a beast to drill a hole into to mount gauges.

Have a little faith in a guy, lol. Layed the first coats of paint, and I can see a few divots that didn't get filled all the way. Back to the sanding block.
