Yeah, I agree with Hardy (man, this seems to be happening a lot lately!) that the best way to learn is to do it. It's very difficult to learn about engines just reading books. Yeah, there are some people who really should be afraid to attempt mechanical things (but sometimes, unfortunately, aren't), but if you can do suspensions and your car hasn't fallen apart, then you're not one of them.

I really feel no need to be able to do engine work. I like rarely doing work on my car. brakes and suspension are rare enough. I'll be assisting in the install of an awic in the next few weeks, but I think that's about it, unless I need to keep costs down by helping a friend
