I run 89 in my na. On 87, the car runs horribly. Runs best on 91 but is more expensive. I'd run 91 if my engine was in good shape but with leaking valves and filling up twice a week, 91 doesn't make sense for me right now. 89 is the best compromise for me right now.

BTW, 87 octane in Hawaii is going for about $2.35/gal.

My station is breaking $2.32 for 87 octane spooge cut with shampoo or what ever shell uses to clean your cylinders. The cut-rate gas down a few blocks is $2.19.. and the rollin' on dubs place is $2.03 with $40 carwash purchase, $2.48 without.

Whoa. $~1.90 for 87, which is all I used even with the old N/A. I've tried higher grades, but never noticed a difference. The only time I had a problem was when I cheaped out in the desert with 85 octane. Combine that with mountains and it wasn't worth it even though I knew I was going to be burning through it in no time.

I hear that Shell is the best gas you can get, where as there are some really shitty gases out there like Conaco or 7-11. Opinions?

In Detroit I used to see them with garden hoses in the underground tanks at night. And I wondered why gas was like $.87 when I first got there.
