what I get to look at:

uber bright flash:

a little less flash:

I'll go get a side pic right now. I would have gotten a just lit up pic, but my camera hates the dark. it lights up green, only a little dimmer than the gauges.

Here's that side pic:

it's pretty thick, but that doesn't bother me since it's a frosted (matte finish) silver.

Where I have it mounted, it's quite visible. it's rotated so that it's just at the right angle for me. there is a little glare in the side window and the very top corner of the windshield.

What about some kind of louvre over the top to keep the light reflection down? Don't tell me there isn't anything for that?

Here ya go Josh. Took a dim, mid and full dimmer.

It looks pretty different in the pics but in person, the green looks almost just like the oem gauge clusters green.

Thanks guys for all the pics!!! I really appreciate it.

I think I will probably go with the z-series or maybe the phantom.....since my interior is tan, and the only other color I have is black.

As for mounting, I'm not sure. I sort of like the pillar mount, but I'll have to decide once I get the gauge.

I really would like something small and conspicuous

Those of you that have them mounted on the a-pillar, is it mounted by just a bracket, or do you have a pod? Any pictures?

Sam, I will probably need a wideband eventually.....but I'd like some way to read boost until then. Does the zeitronix need an additional sensor to read boost?
For the a-pillar, there are special pods. If you search, there are couple threads on the bbs about which a-pillar pods fit our cars. I got one for an Acura Integra from based on recommmendations of people on the board, and it works fits "not so hot" but ok.

Yeah, to get the Zeitronix to log boost or EGT you need to buy extra sensors. It comes with everything you need to log AFR and RPM (including cables and software for a laptop) but not boost or EGT.

I have mine mounted in a basic autometer gauge cup. Easy to install and uninstall, as well as being cheap.

Yeah, I'd just to the autometer gauge cup. The pods probably wouldn't be the right color for my interior anyway.

I have mine in a pod on the a-pillar, but i bought the pod for an integra i think, its been a while. I need to use a heat gun to mold it then mount it nicer than i have right now. Right now its just kinda wedged in there.

Well the pictures didn't turn out at all.

I'll link the bets two I got, but the camera I used doesn't do night shots well at all. If I get a hold of the other camera soon I'll use that one. My dad has a really nice digital camera, but I may not get around to picking up for a few days.

At night I don't have any problem seeing the boost guage.

If I had my choice, I'd love to have those defi gauges. :)

Thansk Ryan.

Yeah, the defi gauges are pretty cool. I just don't feel like spending that kind of cash, at least until I know what I want to do with engine management.

I totally agree. I can't justify spending that kind of cash on a gauge right now.

I decided to get the z-series gauge. I'll play with it and see where I like it better. If the glare on the glass is an issue, I may make a little hood or something....we'll see.

Sorry to get off topic but what is a "stop Lamp?"

I think 90-92 cars had a warning light that would come on if a brake light bulb was burned out.

Neat!

I have a short in mine it goes off if I have my headlights on but works if the headlights are off.

And sometimes it comes on with the headlights but effected by vibration.

Jason, That's pretty cool. I saw one that looked very similar to that.

Then I'd lose my pocket though......

Got my gauge today....and autometer forgot to put the bulb and bulb holder in the damn gauge.....I was like WTF??

So Summit is supposed to be sending me just that piece.

Here's some pics. Is there anything else that I'm missing? I'm also assuming I need to remove the long studs from the gauge in order to install it in the cup.
