If you have replaced the sensor, and the wiring is good, and you are still seeing the whacked out readings, there's nothing left but the ECU. It may be interpetting the data incorretly, or it may be out for a smoke break...I don't know. With electrical issues like this, you've got to take a very systematic approach to diagnosing. Replacing a part or testing things here or there will cause you to chase your tail around and around.

The factory manual's troubleshooting procedure is pretty much exactly what I mentioned above. They've even got flow charts: Check the sensor, if out of spec, replace; next test wiring, if out of spec, replace; otherwise repair ECU terminal or replace ECU.

right, that makes sense. we did try a spare ECU in there, but never datalogged with it, but it didnt solve the knock sensor issue i was having, which we solved by re-wiring it.... so now comes the fun part....

So, I got some "good news". The 02 sensor CEL just came on. So obviously i will replace that. i wonder how long it has been bad though. I had it in the bottom bung, when it should have been in the top bung, and obviously something is wrong with it. I will start by replacing that and possibly resetting the ECU so the chip can learn with a fully functional 02 sensor that is in the right location, and also put some Magnecor 8mm wires on, since my wire broke when pulling it off (could have been causing some issues as well). Do you guys recommend getting an NGK 02 sensor, or should a "generic" one from autozone work just as well? Thanks

Get an O2 sensor that has the connector plug on it, not one you have to cut and splice.
