this set-up is the one I got from Josh L. last year...

for the most part, works fairly well on the stock ECU. just running stock boost still. needs a piggyback...
it's open deck, but this build has been run for 14k miles now....

ej25 (NA) block
ej25 DOHC heads ('96 with HLAs)
ej25 flat top pistons
ej22t crank/rods
ej20g intake manifold, 440 injectors, vf8 turbo
WRX tmic w/TurboXS bypass valve
very short intake with cone filter.
ej22t ECU
3" bellmouth downpipe wrapped and coated.
rest of exhaust is ej22t

about 2.4L and around 8:1 comp ratio....

The SOHC heads are excellent units...with big valves and a roller valvetrain...BUT...

The coolant passages do not match that of a closed-deck EJ block...so they are a poor choice for an EJ22T build.

And...Phase I = DOHC EJ25
Phase II = SOHC EJ25

To use either set, you will need the intake, as it is completely different.

The SOHC EJ25 heads are completely different than the EJ22 heads...

The electrics will work with both
When you say the electric will work do you have confirmed information?

Everything else is working except the camshaft sensor which uses a 2 wire instead of a 3 wire the EJ22T uses (EJ22T block SOHC EJ25 heads, EJ22T ECU)

The SOHC 2.5 heads are a phase II heads, and use a totally different trigger signal.

The DOHC EJ25D heads use a phase I design and trigger signal, and flow better to boot.
