I'm just bustin' your balls Kimo. I'm sure once you purchase their product that they will take care of you. But as I stated, until you can get on a dyno for tuning purposes, you'd still only have a questimate of a map to run on the car.

Good point. I've got a lot to worry about before getting a chip anyhow. I could probably come up with a list of 50+ things that need to be done on this car just to make it run.

Been meaning to come up with this list for a while actually...

1st, find an AWD dyno.

I'm no dyno-shop know-it-all, but besides one in Portland and the one near Revtronix in Coquitlam, BC, I've yet to find one in the state.

EDIT: Definitely shoulda/woulda/coulda looked harder - See below! But now I know where to go around Seattle.

I've been to http://www.kitoautosport.com/ before and used their mustang AWD dyno.

If I ever get my car running 100%, I'm going to get a dyno run with stage 2 + td05.

Cool...was the shop 'professional'? The one in BC was 'iffy' IMHO - Dyno wasn't 100% (software issues) and scheduling was random - might be 10 mins or 1+hours late, even w/an appointment.

I made an appointment and arrived on time (was morning). They drove the car onto the dyno and did the run -- I was only allowed to watch from the next room through a window... not too happy about that. Since it was a [nearly] stock TW, just did 2 runs, got my graphs, paid the bill and left within 30 min.

There's definitely shops with AWD dynos in WA. I don't recall which ones, but I know I've heard of some. I know that doesn't help much, but just sayin...

I've decided against the chip. I'm broke. When I get out of school(and don't rely on it) I'll have some money and I'll boost the shit out of it.

PIA has one don't they? I'm sure they are more, but all on the eastern part of the state.

Yes PIA has one, i think it's 85 bucks for 3 pulls

by kimokalihi
Is that a reasonable price? Never dynoed a car before.

I have no idea.... I wonder if they have the software needed to tune the revtronix chip....
Jake? Nick?

Yes, $85 is reasonable for dyno pulls with just data logging. If the shop does any real tuning to the vehicle, they may charge more.

Yes, PIA has an AWD dyno. No, they don't have anyone familiar w/ Revtronix. I asked when I was there this weekend. Lolz, Subaru > Mitsu.

I had inquired at PIA about diagnosing my knocking / ECU learning issues. They referred me to Tim Bailey (surgeline tuning), who in tern stated he does not work on our stock cars due to ECU programmablility sucks. However, he suggested I put in a Vipec or Autronic ECU which would need ~6-10hrs of tuning. hah, way too much money for an old car / DD.

Anyways, I'm starting to get pissed off at Revtronix for their lack of professionalism and customer service. Been well over a week so far with no response on their forum or email for my issues...

Since the configuration of the ECU has been deciphered can we finally know what pin b56.11 does? Its labeled as 'Jurisdiction ID" and switches between the California mode and the "everywhere else" mode.

That's a coincidence as I just read this on the Revtronix forum today.

Per Mike@Revtronix:
California mode will have some modified delay timers for closed loop operation.

Mike is/was in the process of moving from Canada to California a week or two ago. Not sure what the deal is either... but the lack of customer service from an apparent one-man shop is slowly turning me off from this company's product.

FUCK! I ordered the stage 1 chip :( Oh well I am not complaining the price of the chip IMO is fine. To make such a product that does so much for our cars at only $200 is very good. Also consider EM is more important than the big turbo.
