Yes, heated w/ coolant. It prevents icing in the winter.

As you are facing the engine, on the right side there is a 3/8" line coming straight up out of the block behind/under the intake manifold. This goes about 4 inches and into the bottom of the throttle body. Then it comes out and into another connection or the left side.
It is supposedly warmed to keep the throttle body from icing up in cold weather. By bypassing this you can gain at least 1/2 HP! Actually I have no clue how much gain it is but everything helps right?
It is a bitch to bypass though. All you need is a length of replacement hose, a needle nose pliers, a razor blade and some time.

wait... how could that be a result of a cooler throttle body? I can see it not helping MUCH but to actually hurt throttle response in some way... what the hell did you do to your car?

I actually wonder if what happened there was air being introduced into the water manifold. The hose feeding coolant to the IAC valve and throttle body comes off the water manifold, not too far from where the coolant temperature sensor sits. Air bubbles going past the coolant temperature sensor could cause unsmoothness.

Thats a possibility. Having a cooler throttle body should not hurt performance in any way, unless of course it gets iced up I suppose.
