Ottawa meeting.....

That sounds really good. Will be able to findout how slow my car really
is.... Anyone have any advice on anything i should do to prep the car, i
assume getting much higher Octain fuel that usual is a good idea, know
where i can get higher than 94? That is my usual. I guess reseting the
ECU after the fill-up on the better gas is a good idea too so that it
doesn't retard the timing as much... well let me know.

Did the WRX happen to be blue and a rear wheel drive conversion? If so it
is from Lachute and it was on the Tapp Auto Dyno a few weeks ago. At that
time i saw it hit 290 at the wheels and i'm sure they did more to it since
then. WRX doing burn-outs was fun.... hehe

Incase anyone is wondering it is rear wheel drive right now so that it can
go on the dyno, no 4WD dynos in the area :(

Hey Adam,

I don't know where to get higher octane "auto" fuel. Maybe a
performance store could order some in for you in a 45 gal drum? Then
there is always aviation fuel (avgas). 100 octane cost's about
$1.00/liter and has a bit of lead in it for better lubrication, its
also refined higher. Damn good fuel provided you removed your cat.
converter. Also the ECU should advance the timing on its own,
provided you have little old fuel and a lot of new higher octane fuel
in your tank. The 2.2L turbos can run on regular fuel, the ECU detects
it and automatically retards the timing. The WRX was black driven also
by a frenchman.

I would love to get the sube on the track. I'll be emailing your personal address and see what we can arrange. Adam, sounds like you've got a sweet ride with those mods listed. I wish I had some bigger wheels - must look sharp!

If you want more octane, that 'race fuel' article in the archives speaks of Toluene. Buy it by the drup and it works out to $1.00 a L. The octane rating on it is 114 so a 3:1 mix with some Sunoco 94 would be perfect.

Hi Matt,

That would be great if we could all meet. Try emailing me
at mark_stachowiak@hotmail.com I check it more often. Adam has the
nice car, I most likely will be buying the 91 turbo sedan I found
abandoned by a house. I don't think I'll have it ready by then though.
But I do intend to supe it up. Now I'm driving a 93 sedan auto.

Cheers,
Mark
