Wimpy Clutch to Save Tranny

With all due respect......... The assertion that the best way to keep from blowing a transmission is to install an inadequate clutch begins with the assumption that the driver has no free will with which to prudently modulate the throttle.
I just want to drive the damn car, not pour excessive time and money into it. Replacing a needlessly smoked worthless stock clutch is way too much work and expense for this old fart.
If I find myself comparing standing-start acceleration with some kid in a Honda, I'll just give him the hole shot and attempt to eat him up once rolling and safely hooked up. Instead of doing flamboyant launches, I would rather just have enough torque that I don't need to abuse my drivetrain to defeat some zit-faced wankezoid.
Choosing a Subaru (or any AWD car) for drag racing makes about as much sense as choosing wiener dogs to pull a sled. It's the wrong application!!!
Did you ever notice that the fastest 1/4 mile Eclipse/Talons have been converted to RWD with the engine turned 90 degrees?? If AWD is good for drag racing then the really fast guys wouldn't ditch it. A hot Subaru is in its element on rough roads with poor traction, that's why the factory sponsors rally, not drag racing.
I don't believe in drag racing anyway. I have trouble operating the pedals in spike heels and sometimes I can't see that well when wearing false eyelashes. If I'm going racing than I'll just skip shaving my legs and throw on a pair of jeans.
