What size turbo engines do you have in the US.

The legacy turbo is a 2.2 liter turbo engine. The new WRX has the 2.0 liter turbo engine.

We also have(had) the 2.2 liter N/A engine, and the 2.5 liter N/A engine.

The SOHC 2.2 was the only US Legacy Turbo size.

Same over here except for the 2.2. I had been told that you guys have 2.5 turbo’s. I instantly said no because I would have heard about it on this group for sure.

You know.....there is a lot of buzz about this.....I'm not sure where they are getting their info......but there is no such factory motor. Not saying there won't be in the future.....but I haven't heard of it.....and really doesn't make a lot of sense.....unless we're just getting a low boost poop engine for the states......damn SOA!!!

So here's my question: If the 2.2 is such an improvement over the 2.0, then why are the WRC cars pushed by the 2.0?

These are class rules....cars can only be 2.0 liters in WRC now

Subaru Australia won’t be releasing the new shape GT forester until they have the 2.5 turbo. This is great news, now all they have to do is put twin turbos on the new 3lt H-6 and jamb it in the next generation B4.

The H6 is actually going away believe it or not...lots of reliability issues

The US will be getting the 2.5 turbo though in their Legacy!!

From what I've heard, it'll no longer be the "2.5GT" - instead,
it'll
get a variant of the 2.0l turbo motor, same as the GTs in the rest of
the world (whether we'll get the twin-turbo remains to be seen). My
guess is it'll be the WRX engine exactly, hopefully with a small
boost
increase to counter the weight of the GT.

Also something that I have just read is that the forester will have the 2.5 as standard and the new 2.5 turbo engines installed. No 2.0 to be seen. Also on a happy note Subaru Australia has opened its first STI factory in Melboure with plans for Sydney and Brisbane. Also on the list a 3.0 turbo motor for the new but bigger liberty. Also did you know that in 94 Subaru Australia was 24 hrs from closing its doors for good in Australia. No wonder my girlfrieds 94 GX is so much mre povo than my 92 GX (which is forsale) and my RS, well lets just say that it is the better of the 3. Here is a little bit from the mag I got it from. What’s coming from Subaru wearing the pink pill on the grille? More power, of course.

Look towards Nissan’s next ’04 R35 GT-R at around 335kW for a clue. Using the new larger Liberty body, due in 18 months, and a turbocharged 3.0-litre flat six, STI will produce its own AWD supercar expected to sport around 280 kW and a train load of torque. The B4 Sti will be quick. Six speed manual and five speed automatic are on the menu. Big, meaty brakes, too.

The WRX is due for a facelift soon, and those cockeyed headlights are going straight into the nearest rubbish bin. Power, though, might tickle upward now that the Japanese manufacturers have decided to forget about there stupid 280 ps (206 kW) gentlemen’s agreement. About bloody time.

Its got less things than what my 92 had. It does’nt even have a drink holder. I have velour on the pillars, nother on the 94. I mean it is more like the base model (povo pack). As far as I know the GX was the top of the line. Mind you this years povo pack is better then my 92 GX.

Ok, so which is the better of the 3 for luxury your 92 GX or your RS?

The RS has a better colour interior, but a bit more sporty with harder and more support in the seats. The GX has a nice interior as well with softer seats. I would say that the RS is the better of the two (it had better be as well for the top of the line model). They both have the same inclusions, just different motors etc as you know.

I agree. My old Liberty GX had similar options, except front fog lights, the GX front seats were too flat... I find the RS seat heaps better,,,,,, as is the interior colour coding,,,...
I still miss low range when in the snow and the hill holder - loved that !
