Fuel pump help, EJ20 guru needed, replace stock or upgrade?

Hi.. quick post as I need quick answers. Bottom line is that my fuel pump on my legacy has died for sure now, it cut out late last week and ran again on saturday and sunday, then conked out while I was at school yesterday. My car got towed home last night and I need to get a new pump so I can be mobile again...

My question is whether to drop in a replacement for the Legacy Turbo fuel pump or upgrade because I'm planning an EJ20 conversion in the summer/fall? Also if I'm going to upgrade brands ( or part numbers would be helpful ).

Thanks in advance!

If you're going to upgrade your engine, you might as well upgrade your fuel pump.

If you do decide to upgrade the fuel pump, you should also upgrade your fuel pressure regulator to something better then stock. I suggest an Aeromotive Adjustable FPR.

Gary,

You get any of the messages I sent to you about the strut tower bars?

as far as my fuel pump goes... I had to order one from the dealer  $403.95 canadain, as my car NEEDS to be on the road very soon. My parents are getting frustrated for me using their cars. If it turns out I can't use this with the WRX, or STi powerplant I put in, I'll sell it on here to someone who can use it.

I'm running the stock fuel pump with my EJ20G and 440cc injectors...I don't think it should be a problem till you start putting out a lot more boost....oh yeah...I'm not running wrx engine managment, so that has something to do with it too.

I ended up getting desperite and went for a NAPA pump. Subaru told me they could have one for Friday, then told me it'd be on back order this morning... and I need it for tomorrow, so that really pissed me off, and the only place up here that had anything was NAPA which was surprising... and we'll see how that holds up.
