I've just purchased a 91 Legacy wagon with 177400 miles. The engine
has lots of power and has no fluid leaks. It runs excellent, but the
check engine light comes on then goes off every now and then. What
should be checked and or replaced?

How about checking the code that is stored whenever the check engine light
comes on?!
