Hi. I am new here and am so glad there is a BC-BF club. I drive a 94
Legacy Ti AWD. It has the EJ22 and I absolutely love it. Over the
past two and a half years I have done a lot to modify this potential
sleeper wagon. Wires, Intake, Cat back Exhaust, Apex'i Computer
Piggyback, Timing advancement, Stereo, and numerous interior mods to
spruce up appearance a bit. I hope sombody can awnser a question I
have about that god-aweful air suspensio that came with the car....
Can I replace it with a sport suspension(such as a KYB AGX setup)???
And if so, how difficult will it be? Cost? Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Best bet would be to find a dead legacy and grab the whole strut setup, that
way you get all the parts. My legacy had air suspension originally.

Yes you can replace with the normal spring/strut combo.

You will need the strut, the spring, and the strut top mounts, and for the front you need the spring seat holders....(don't know if that's the technical name) The rears have the spring holder and top mount all as one piece.

I would assume if you are looking for performance, you may want lowering springs, but correct me if I'm wrong. There are some different springs out there. Only problem I can see is that the AGX struts do not work well on a vehicle that has been lowered more then 1" If you have a car lower then that from stock ride height.....you will most likely prematurely blow the AGX struts.

As for price.......I think the AGX's go for about 99 bucks a piece....you can prob find them cheaper.
Springs.....probably around 150-200 depending on what you get.

the spring seat in the front....prob just get some from a junkyard, or order from the dealer. Check out my site www.surrealmirage.com/subaru In the notes & tips section, tech articles there is a pdf with exploded diagram of parts for these cars, and list prices. So you should be able to snag that, find the piece I'm talking about and see how much it would cost brand new.

Difficulty.....shouldn't be too bad if you know how to replace struts. I'd probably suggest taking all the air suspension stuff out...compressor/dryer, etc. It's just added weight.
