I just installed the engine back into my '91 Legacy T Auto Tranny and
it runs great. Problem: no movement! I put it into gear and nothing
happens. I left the torque convertor attached when I pulled the
engine. Checked fluid and it full. Any ideas????

Thanks!

Did you do anything to transmission? Was the torque converter attached to the tranny or the engine throught the flex plate?

Have you checked the fluid level? What about cylcing through the gears. You may have some air in the passages, cylcing through the gears may open or close certain solenoids.......

Those are some things to check I guess.

Well, one easy thing to do is to check for error codes
in the TCU.

that would be my site :)

Yeah that probably is a good idea to just rule that out.

I'm afraid you haven't refitted the convertor properly. Was the engine
difficult to slide up to the engine for the last half inch? If so you
haven't meshed with the oil pump drive in the box. You have to pull the box
or engine and remove the convertor and refit it. Make sure you remove the
oil pump drive adaptor as well and connect it to the convertor before you
fit it up. As a rule , never leave a convertor attached to an engine when
removing engine or box, it's always trouble.
Hope this helps.
Cheers. Al.

Does the convertor need to be comepletely removed to be refitted?

Yep, and it can sometimes be very difficult to fit properly, when its
completely in, the ring gear will touch the case at the bottom front of the
trans until its bolted up to the flex plate.
