So where on earth do I pick up the speed pulse from???

Anyone help me here...? I have a 2000 spec Legacy Outback H6 3.0 which I have just fitted an Alpine Sat Nav unit to. Looks good sounds good and works almost as good except for the need to connect to the vehicle speed pulse. Thats as far as I have got, anyone any clues as to the colour code of the wire?
