am installing an air con system onto a non air con ej22. have all the parts fom condenser to evaporator.
how will this effect the ecu as far as idling issues when the compressor kicks in?
is there anyone out there who has already done this and knows any hints, tips, suggestions?
cheers

How are you going to do the wiring?
On cars equipped from the factory with air conditioning, the ECU is in charge of switching the compressor on when the switch is pressed. The air conditioning switches on the dash tell the ECU to turn on the air conditioning, and then the ECU controls the compressor clutch through the A/C cut control relay. So, it knows when the A/C is on and adjusts IAC valve duty accordingly. It also cuts the compressor off when you accelerate hard.
I doubt cars without A/C were equipped with different ECUs, so I'd suggest you try to mimic this wiring.

that's going to be a lot of work....especially in the wiring detail.
let's hope the wiring is in place and you can just hook connectors up. If not, you'll have to do a lot of wiring.

hey josh,
do you (or anyone) know of any good wiring diagrams to do this job. i have one from the workshop manual, are there any others.
crazy i know, but if all goes well it is going to cost under half of what the shop quoted to do.
cheers
