Just a quick question....those that have experienced any kind of bogging/hesitation either in the past or currently.....what type of filter were you running, and how long were you running that filter?

Also, what type of intake setup did you have.

Stock
resonator removed
cone filter,
etc.

i dont have any issues, haven't for a year. I had a cone filter, and it would bog. I put a box on with a pvc valve, and now there is a little hesitation with the valve open, none when it's closed. The topend changes too.

I feel a little hesitation usually when accelerating through first gear at wide open throttle. My intake is all stock, and I believe I'm using an STP filter element.

When I was intercooled the hesitation effect seemed smaller.

I too had some hesitation issues when I wasn't running an I/C. I had a K&N panel and removed snorkus. Now with the i/c on I hardly ever get any hesitation. :D

I think I'm the unlucky SOB who is going to be plagued with this hesitation issue forever. I have tried everyone else's successful remedies to no avail...

Nevertheless, I experience bad hesitiation mainly in 1st and 2nd gears between 1000-4000 rpm, and since the reinstallation of my airbox (still have snorkus), I have used an STP filter and I currently am using a Purolator filter... No difference between the two...

thanks guys....keep them coming......I don't care if your car is n/a or turbo.

There's two specific things I'm trying to gather data on.....and hopefully with some testing on my part and your data I can get a better idea of the cause.

K&N panel filter (recently cleaned, not over-oiled), removed intake silencer.

Hesitation free since I replaced the plugs & batteries and performed an ECU reset.

i have a K&N panel filter. Every time my car hesitates replacing the fuel filter fixes it (usually makes it about 30K) except for in the winter if I ram a snow bank and clog the air intake with snow - then I have to gte out and clear it.

Been running a cone filter with the most aweful connection to the inlet proper that youv ever seen (beleive me its just appaling and must be sapping power) but that wasnt the cause of the trouble, it was just leaking boost/vacuum pipes. Also (having recently had various coolant leaks, blown radiator and water pump) when the car is low on coolant it misbehaves in much the same manner, stuttery boost, juddering coming off the throttle and so on.
