I think he's asking if the mileage still goes up. I don't think it does.

Note to self: Take roadtrips in reverse!

Watch your speedo, I don't think it works in reverse. If it works it counts, if not it doesn't.

my speedometer does not register in reverse, and i actually have miles taken OFF my trip odometer, not sure if it reflects on the actual odometer, i'd imagine it would.
Occasionally I dont feel like turning around in my friends driveway after i drop him off, so my best friend watches the front, and i drive backwards all the way out to the main road. Too bad there's only one reverse gear!

I know there have been some cars where the reverse gear was set up to work on the main output so all gears also functioned in reverse. I wish I could remember one now, but I'm at a loss. I just remember reading about them and thought it would be great.

My moms told me about when she was younger my grandpa would tell her and her sisters that they could only go say 10 miles to suzies house, But instead thayd go 15 miles to jennies house. then theyd drive backwards for five miles cause the speedo would rewind, but of course that was on a 60 something ford station wagon. They did that cause my grndpa would always check the mileage when they got back. thats why they did that on ferris buellers day of. My grandpa also put a restrictor on the car that made so it wouldnt go more than 50 miles an hour. Ya my grandpa's W3ird.

It didn't work in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, remember? Cameron kicked the car and it drove through the plate glass window.

I know that, that's just what they were trying to do.
