BTW that plymouth conquest behind me was so nice when it ran, a pretty old guy owned the car and worked on it almost weekly, but about 5-6 months ago he stopped, He hadn't started it up since about that time either. It was towed about 3 days ago. :(

in my experience, you have to work on it that often to keep it running.

those are the best rims for the legacy.

I wish I could've found a starquest around these parts. I had a couple in mind (including one with a 4g63 swap) but I needed a car I could drive in the wintertime.

For now, I guess the legacy will have to suffice :P

The car itself we built by Mitsubishi, so they were available in at least Japan. Although the Japanese version got a MUCH better engine, IMO. Over here, Chrysler had the Conquest (also built by Mitsu) and Mitubishi had the Starion. The same cars except for the badging, IIRC.

I thought it was plymouth that had the conquest, and chrysler had something almost exactly the same but like you said except for badging. Again, I'm not entirely sure about that lines history.

Lookin good quick.

Definitely a Chrysler . . . never heard of a plymouth Conquest.

My uncle's is a chrysler, although like you said, it is partnered with Mitsu somehow. There is Mitsu badging on the stearing wheel and a few other places.

Yeah, Plymouth had the Laser(rebadged Eclipse)

The Laser Eclipse was later. The Laser contemporary to the Conquest was a version of the K-car based fwd Daytona.

lemme see, i think there was the mitsu starion from 83-89, the dodge conquest from 83-86, and the plymouth conquest from 83-89. The 83-85 ones dont have the fender flares or the intercooler, and starting in 86 they transitioned over to the widebody that we still see around. In japan and australia they got the 2 litre engine with 3v/cyl, the 2nd intake valve opened only at higher rpms- neat! The 2.6 is a truck engine, same as the d50, montero, raider, caravan. It's timed 10degrees before tdc! frickin slow burn rate.

this car is a PITA. If it was my first car, i would hate cars. the oil filter is directly between an engine mount and the turbo. It has 4 belts, and 4 hoses bolted to the top of the valve cover. Plus it's a turbo truck motor; good idea mitsubishi!

its decently quick though, and the handling is fantastic. goodnight.
