Preventing Rust...

Okay, so last night, I was going home, with my VERY drunk best friend. When she opened her door, she slammed it into the top of the curb, and got the sucker stuck. I had to go around, and kick the bottom of it to get it to come loose. I'm sure it's missing paint where the door hit the cement, but I dont have the $$ to repaint it right now. Should I just wax it a buncha times to keep it from collecting water, or what? I just dont want to get any corosion.

Any suggestions?

Prolly just scuffed the bottom edge of the door, just get some touch up etching primer, you know, the stuff in a small bottle with a small brush. Apply it where ever you see exposed metal. There may some flaking paint, be sure to remove all the loose paint be for priming, then get a a bottle of color match, same, in a small bottle with a brush and apply that over the primer. then you can add some wax on top of it all when dry if your feeling very enthousiastic.

I'd just spray it with some undercoating - you can always remove it relatively easily when you want to paint over it. Some rust converter on it first wouldn't hurt either.

Your mistake was kicking the door to get it moving. Using two hands grab the front fender will and lift the car so the door isnt stuck.

Other than that sanding and NAIL POLISH works really well!

Aren't nail polish and touch-up paint more or less the same thing? That's what I'd heard, anyway...

Yeah, except nail polish is available in better colors.

Imagine a girl using a can of WRB touch up paint on her nales

I think I find this exceedingly funny because, at some strange level, I totally expected you to say something like that! :P
