A new kind of EJ22 turbo...

So, I am now in possesion of my project engine. It is a complete EJ22T with up-pipe, exhaust manifold, oil pan, crossmember, etc. I plan on doing the build on that block that we have discussed before. So, while the shortblock is out getting set up, I was thinking about playing mad scientist. Here's the plan:
Get an old EJ22 powered Legacy and put the up-pipe, exhaust manifold, crossmember, oil pan, heads, and pistons on it. I would pick up a vf-10 or vf-11 and run around 8-9psi like the factory turbo Legacy, because the lower CR would let me. I would just use the standard jury rig engine management like an AFC and MBC. How much power do you think this thing would make? How reliable? I wouldn't care if it blew up since the EJ22T will go in there in six months or so. And if it proves to be reliable and have decent power I would maybe sell it off to someone looking to go turbo on a budget.

What do you think? What dificulties in getting it running do you see?

MY00 4.7RS Impreza-driving around with an EJ22T in the trunk!!
HAHAHA
When i had the starion engine in the trunk, i was joking about having a 4.8 and the new tech in awd. Awesome.

Should be great, ya just can't take it *quite* as far. It would prolly be better than any other aftermarket turbo setup (turbo civics, etc) All you're missing is a stronger block and some oil squirters, right? You can even run the turbo ecu.

So you're going to turbo an N/A car with the turbo pistons? I would bet you'd be OK for a little while if you tret it well. My guess would be that it would do better than an equivalent EJ25 engine.
