East Coast Meeting?

The Museum of Transportation www.mot.org is having a Japanese car day on October 2. The place is in Brookline MA on the grounds of the old Larz Anderson estate (one of the earliest automobile enthusiasts).

They have multiple other theme events on the estate lawn all summer, check the website, but I was thinking it would be great if we could get a lot of Subarus there.

This place is classy, too so the Japanese cars there will likely be classics like 2000GTs, Zs, etc. rather than rice. The stuff that shows up for Italian Day and British Day are incredible. They've gotten McLaren F1s, F50s, rare old Ferraris, and extensive etceterini most people have never heard of.

When you said East Coast, I thought it would be a little closer to me:(

Isn't it a 3000GT?

Toyota 2000GT - they made I think 343 of them in the late '60's. Presumably the original exterior design for the 240Z as done by Goertz and with a Yamaha engine. Picture a smaller, but IMO, better looking Jag XKE with big (a little awkward) spotlights in front.

I know, almost nobody lives near me!

Yes, the 2000GT is the original exterior of the 240Z. Kind of a cool car.

If it was closer to the Mid-A, then I'd be down.

Damn the rarity of the Turbo Legacy. I know of 3 semi-local's, and 1 of them is an ex-owner :(

Its smaller than it looks in photos, too. Saw one at the Lime Rock Vintage races last year in the same color - beautiful! Even better in person. If it was made in Europe people wouldn't have forgotten about it.

Toyota is gonna make a concept that's supposed to evoke the 2000GT shape, dunno if it will see fruition...

Can't make that meet for sure though... :(
