Is it 10 or 12?

I can't seem to get my wrench on it at all. I've tried for over 20 minutes today. I haven't yet gotten the wrench on it to get it to move.

I actully just did that aout a week ago, i dont recall the size but i can check that out for you later tonight. If you are using an extension to go under the manifold you need to either get a movable joint thing to rachet at an angle or get an extension with alot of play likon the socket end which would allow for a slight bend. its a pain in the ass to alight i recomment some needle nose pliers or something to hold it or you will mess up your fingers :-/

Do you have a turbo? What did you have to do to unplug the electrical connector??????

That thing is burried down below the IAC valve.

no mine is not turbo, i guess i was luckier than you. I had a hard enough time just as it is, i cant imagine what its like doing that with a turbo in the way too.

I would guess try to push the safety with a screwdriver and pull the wires with something else. I know that seems sort of a caveman approach but im one to improvise with the little resources i have. getting the new one plugged in is another story. I can see how the turbo would get in the way but even mine without it i had to jam my fingers into the crevices between the manifolds. Maybe if your lucky you can find someone with small fingers.

I don't think I have the room to use a socket and ratchet. The intake of hte turbo is in the way.

if you take it off does it make for more room or is the actual compressor inlet right there?

Take the turbo off you mean? I sappose I COULDDD, but I don't want to. :)

If I really wanted room i'd take off the intake alltogether, but again, I'd rather not do that much work to change the stupid thing. Sapposedly it is possable without doing all that. I just couldn't get my wrench on to the bolt.

no not the turbo, just the rubber elbow and plastic intake parts right there. It's only two clamps and a couple hoses to remove right?

the 90 degree aluminum elbow comes off too, only 2 bolts.

Oh, right. Well I probably will have to to get to the electrical connector, but the turbo is in the way of getting an extension and socket to the purge solenoid.
