I took the nice weather of yesterday and today to wire in my stereo, which included
Day one
Installing CD player and Separate Graphic EQ.
(cutting of the factory location was required so I could keep my lucky pocket)
Running 3 RCA wires and 1 remote wire from front to back down the center under the carpet and console.
realization that the existing 4AWG power cable was too short. and being a sunday, I couldn't buy any after 5pm....
Day two
Purchased the correct footage of 4AWG power cable and new fuse holder.
Run power wire from front to back splitting in the rear to 2 8AWG power cables going into each of my 2 amps, 1 for subs 1 for 4 speakers.
find decent grounds under the seat connect remote and power connections and boom. lights camera action on the amps.
Removed the stock rear speakers and replaced them with my 6.5 Kenwood Excelon Dual Mag 2way speakers
Future
Buy new front speakers, the rears connected to the amp vs the stock fronts connected to the deck are drowned out. I have to fade to the front at least 75% just to hear them in balance with the rears.
Tidy up wiring
I didn't take pics today because I just wanted to get it done. I'll take pics of the final setup tomorrow.
