A couple of problems/questions

I'm new here, so hi. Anyway, we just got a 92 legacy wagon with 182k miles on it. When you first start the car for the first time in the day, it stalls about 2 times, then it starts but when you step on the gas, it sputters then stalls. That happens about twice. Then it runs fine, and runs fine all day. What could be causing this?

Also, the cam seal is leaking, how hard is that to replace? Or how much would it cost to have someone fix it?

And one more thing, earlier today the ABS light came on, then when I shut the car off and turned it back on, it went off. Then when I thought everything was ok, I shut it off, and there was a weird humming? noise under the hood and it was coming from the ABS black box thing. What does that mean??

I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

As far as the cam seal it's not very hard to replace, you can do it in a day. But since you've gotta take off the timing belt and all that shiz, you might as well replace it if it's been a while or is coming up on it soon, same with waterpump and oil pump.

Could be coolant temp sensor. Sounds like it might not doing cold start enrichment properly. If you shut it down after it's warmed up does it exhibit the same starting issue or does it start fine?

Once it gets warmed up and running good, I could start it up 6 hours later, and no problems whatsoever. Its only when it sits overnight.....

I wonder if its a bad contact somewhere getting condensation overnight... How recently have you changed the filters and wires?

I know nothing of ABS.

OK, I will try that. Could that also be why the temp guage doesn't work??
