Gauge placement

Ok so I want to get a boost gauge and an egt ( I was going to go with an a/f gauge, but I don't want to get too many gauges, and I kinda need to get an egt so I can put on my uppipe, hehe).

So where are good places to mount them you think. I was thinking a pillar, but at the same time I don't want to be too fairly obvious looking (as if my exhaust isn't obvious sounding). I would like to have them within reasonable eyeshot of the dash as well. I don't want to have to look down to see my boost. I'd rather be able to keep my head still and be able to just glance at the boost gauge.

What do you guys think about places you've mounted yours or were you want to mount yours?

Matt (legacy92ej22t) has a great placement, mickey-mouse style on the steering column so it's in the center of the speedo and will probably put another one in the center of the tach.

It looked like a GREAT setup because it doesn't interfere with the sighting of anything but the odometer.

I'm either going to put mine on the steering column, or in a custom big-ass-radio-delete plate (see my post below about fiberglass).

Not TO many places where we can get creative in our interior.

Yeah I know, there just isn't a lot of places to put stuff. I don't want to interfere with my regular dash gauges though. Do your steering column gauges interfere at all Matt?

I don't have the EGT installed yet but the boost gauge only obscures the odometer and trip odometer. I love it and it's real easy to look at. If I put the EGT on the other side in the tac it won't obscure anything either. I'm just trying to decide if I want the Disney look. ;)

I was thinking about mounting them on top of the dash at one point but abandoned it because I wanted to keep the sleeper look and because it would be a pain. Look at the pic above, to the right of the steering wheel where the dash line sweeps down to lower right. That's where I was going to mount 2-3 gauges . I was going to have them point at me and work down the line. I still think it would look pimp as shit. I may do it someday if I have a strict race ride.
