Changed the flexplate and now I have problems

The changing of the flexplate was not that bad. We dropped the tranny, changed the tranny oil pan gasket and resealed the engine oil pan gasket.
here is the flexplate, almost completly spun itself to death

A closer look

the plate was cut due to a bolt that would not come out.

Got the tranny bolted back up, everything hooked up, and when I put the car in reverse I hear a noise.

The noise is coming from the tranny case right by the neutral switch and it is a tapping sound that is constant with engine speed. It happens in reverse and in all the forward gears, not in park or neutral.
Has anyone ever had a similar problem?

did you move the torque converter at all? That could be it.

We didn't remove the converter, but we had to rotate it.
There is a bracket holding the gear selector linkage in place, what is right behind it.
I think, I may have switch around a bolt and put a longer one in there. could it be pushing against something?

I'm at a lose on this one.

I dont believe there's anything behind the gear selector. You're talking about on the tranny right? I think it's just connected to wires, which go to the tcu, which relay that back to the tranny. But i could be wrong. I can look for you today.

Yeah, on the tranny case. It's a little u-shaped bracket holding the linkage to the tranny case. There are two bolts holding it to the case.

I'm just shooting in the dark at this point.

fixed it :D
the cable for the neutral switch was out of adjustment, due to the dropping and installing of the tranny.
I love it when everything works out.
