Somebody may have already talked about this but i did a search and couldnt find it so i thought what the hell.

I recently broke one of my speaker covers and after seeing the price from subaru i went to the juckyard. The only one there was maroon. So i took it home hoping to reapholster<sp> it. When i tore off the old fabric i had an epiphany.

I took some sand paper and sanded the entire thing down so it was smooth. I then went to the store and found the closest match to my paint. I sprayed 3 coats plus clear coat. I did this to both sides and it looks much BETTER then the fabric. I'll get pics as soon as i get a batery for my diggy.

Rear? or Fronts?

I believe he is speaking of the fronts.

I was debating doing this to my wagon's covers, but painting them flat black instead.

Sounds like a component system. They can be pretty nice but I prefer a nice 2-way speaker (6.5") with maybe some Polk Audio Tear Drop's
(1.5" tweeter and a 1" voice coil), running on crossovers. In my experience most component speaker systems are lacking at certain frequencies. Using a 2-way speaker for mid-range instead of a 1-way speaker (most component 6.5" are 1-way) in tandem with a high frequencie tweeter sounds much better. Just my .02. ]

Wow, I guess I went real off topic. lol

No actually its a metal cover. I think it makes the inside come together adding one more shade of tan. I have rear 2 way speakers, and front speakers with the attatched tweeter. Much easier then componants. With an amp they sound every bit as good too. also the 2 12 kicker comps with a 600w kenwood with an eclipse head dont hurt either. Full pic gallery by tuesday.
