hello

i just swapped in some manual seatbelts and now i have a relentless seatbelt light that wont stop blinking :( there must be a way to stop this nonsense.

i dont think resetting the seatbelt ecu will work, for the code causing the blinking will surely come right back (perhaps telling me someone stole my seatbelt!!)

please help

Where is said computer/fuse?

I did this swap myself, and was just planning on removing the bulb.....

is this the p/b controller box by the antenna (on sedan)?

also i dont see a fuse for seatbelt computer, on your website (http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8 ... tdiag3.jpg) it says to pull fuse 22, but obviously i cant leave that fuse out?

The FSM says the automatic shoulder belt control unit is near the driver's side rear speaker. If you pull back the carpet, you should see a box there that's bolted to a brace.

They also say something about an A/S control unit. I'm not sure if that's just anotehr automatic seatbelt control unit....or something else? That A/S control unit is located under the driver's seat.

Are you talking about in the trunk?

I am finally getting around to fixing various problems with my car, and this was of fairly high priority.

I'm lazy, so I'm just going to pull the fuse......

Ok.......

There was nowhere to pull a fuse from the unit in the trunk. I went ahead and just pulled the whole thing out instead.

It's pretty small and easy to remove (2 trim fasteners and 2 philips screws), and only took me about 5 minutes to do.

I took a few pics, but they weren't turning out right.

After selling many sets of manual belts in the past, I now find myself dealing with the swap since I brought Angel up from Oregon.

I will be pulling this computer soon, and I will try to add a picture here.

Kimo is right, its just two harnesses to unclip and two screws to dismount the module.

If you want to keep the key chime, you need to keep the seat belt computer in. To kill the light you just remove the pin for the seat belt light in the dash. This is what I did with my manual seat belt swap. It keeps the key chime (which I know some people don't want) and gets rid of the light.

Hey, I didn't even realize I got rid of the door chime! Don't miss it either! With headlights that automatically turn off with the ignition, who needs an annoying noise like that in their lives?

It's not a headlight reminder, it's a you left your keys in the ignition :)

I have disabled all the chirping birds. And I like it that way.

Hey Josh, would you have a pic of the pin location? I went through your seatbelt thread but didn't find a pic.

The pin is R43 pin 5 according to these diagrams.

I don't know if I took a picture of the pin removed from the connector.

Does that help?

I think so the pin was removed from the connector that goes into the control unit located in the trunk?

Yes, I just removed the connector from the control unit and de-pinned that pin from the connector. It was pretty easy to use a small screwdriver to press the little plastic tab in that keeps the pin from being removed.

Below the left rear speaker. Look at fig 68 in this diagram

http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/fil ... tion06.jpg

Just an FYI, I started getting some weird clicking from the auto seat belt ECU when the door opens. I'm not sure what's going on. I need to pull the ECU and see if I see anything inside. I may just put the manual computer in that I got....I just have to find it first ;)
