I'm very new to this stuff and just wondered what are some of the easiest/cheapest mods to gain some hp in my subie?

I don't mean to sound harsh, but your best bet would be to start reading this website.

I take no offense. I have been reading this forum. I guess I'm just having a bit of difficulty with where to begin. (Totally stock.) I use my car all the time and don't want to get into something where my car ends up incapacitated for a long period of time. (While I try to figure out what I did wrong!) It's okay if nobody has any suggestions for me, I will eventually figure out where to begin as I spend more time researching. Cheers! :)

Depending on what you want from the car. the thing most people do on this board, in order are....

Snorkus removal (search, there's a thread on what this is)

Coffee mug intake (you're saying WTF now, but you'll see)

Top Mount Intercooler, Saab 900 seems to be the best option for everyone.

Free flowing exhaust, 2.5" or 3"... WRX downpipes work (all types) and you can either lengthen a WRX Catback or get one custom fabbed..

Manual boost controller, up the stock 8psi of boost up to 14 or so....

Fuel cut defender... Allowing you to boost without the computer telling you that you cannot.

From there things get trickier.....

That should get the hamster running that wheel.

Enjoy.
