Anyone replace thiers?
I figured since I'm going to have the tranny out, I might as well replace it? Is it hard to get out, or is it pretty much like the front crank & cam seals?
Thanks

I've done it. I used the old one to instal the new one by putting it over the new one and hitting that with a mallet. Mine was a little snug.

It's not hard to get out, it's like the others, only much bigger. Be careful not to push the new one in too far, or it will leak.

Has anyone ever seen one leak?

Not in front of my eyes, but I've definitely had them leak.

I've never seen a Subaru leak from the rear main like you've never seen a Subaru burn oil. My Legacy's is bone dry, and even though my XT leaked like a sieve from almost every seal it had when I got it, I don't expect to find the rear main on it to be leaking either...

Well, maybe I'm just blind, because my engine must have been burning oil like gasoline its last few days.
