Its pretty obvious I need a rising rate fuel pressure regulator for the SC set up. What are you reccomendations?
Thanks.
And yes, I will also be upgrading to the walbro fuel pump.

could you tell us a little more about them please?
i may build a high (about 11.5:1) CR motor this winter and i want it to last a while under hard (rally) use.
an i agree that more fuel and a little less advance may be needed.
rumor has it that i can get by w/out that stuff but im not 100% sure.

it is a manifold vacuum referanced fuel pressure regulator.
I will use this on my 900plus hp engine. it should suit your needs fine.

will it work w/stock fuel pump and injectors?

I don't see why not. so your trying to coax so more fuel out of youw stock fuel sytem. yeah it should work for that.
although I woudn't recomend that. but hey don't listen to me.

im not new to subies but i am new to engine building and tuning. and am trying to maintain costs as much as possible.
why would that not be a good idea?
a couple people have done this w/no mods and are running good so who knows i may not need to do anything.

The only thing that comes to mind is the capacities of the stock system. the NA pumps are fairly weak compared to turbo's and to try and get more fuel out of them would really overwork them. Same with injectors. That's not to say I wasn't going to try to do the same thing, only with an upgraded pump.

Yeah, the stock pump probably won't be able to produce the high pressures that you want. But you said you're gonna use a Walbro pump anyway...
I'm not sure what you mean about overworking the injectors, THAWA... How would a rising rate regulator be hard on injectors?
Kelley - What's the rise ratio of your RRFPR? Does it have an onset pressure or does it always have the rising rate?
$115 seems like a good price.

you have a very creepy and accurate memory. amazing. just after i posted that i remembered that was part of the plan but was too lazy to edit.
and yes his price sounds very good. will definatly keep it in mind if this project ever happens.
for those of you w/out photographic memories her is the plan:
Phase II ej25 shortblock w/dual port ej22 heads. should be a bit more than 160 CrHp. and have real good bottom end power. probably a bit weak on top end but that is not where i want the power anyway.

wouldnt making them use more fuel cause the duty to increase? sorry if that makes no sense I can't think right right now.

Greg - Well, I just thought your plan was kind of cool.
THAWA - Not really... That's the reason you increase fuel pressure: to increase fueling without increasing duty cycle or injector size.

Greg your better of getting a ej22T motor nothing beats it.

if you can find me a good (that wont need rebuilding) complete turbo motor, ecu, exhaust, and anything else i may need for less than 500 by next march (the soonest i would have enough money) i would be all for it.
of course turbo is better. that is my holy grail. but hey, you do what you can.
