Customize!

Ok well after watching pimp my ride all day, i cant get the idea out of my head to customize. I was wondering how hard it would be to do some sort of custom door panels. I like the idea of suade or ultra suade. Then use that same fabric to accent some other parts of the car. IE: visors, center consol cover, and shifter boot. I would also make some custom seat covers, replace the carpet, and figure out something with the dashboard and headliner.

Am i crazy to want a custom interior? It makes me feel so good to ride in our jag or navigator where the interior is so exotic. Maybe i should buy an old benz and pimp that out.

look at the other trim levels of legacy's, there's quite a bit of different fabric in the first gens.

Thanks Laurel, Suede...

I like to keep some sort of earthy tones. maybe a light brown or something. I would have to look at some samples.

Thanks for not slammin me :-)

i actually did some thinking, and ultrasuede would look very spiffy. I'm actually looking into recovering all of my door cards, rear seat, and perhaps a custom cargo cover in the black fuzzy fabric off the wrx seats.

I thought of this myself - how to make the interior more upscale while looking OEM. I would like to remake the sunvisors in smoked acrylic with alloy fasteners (that actually work) and the cheap headlining would be nice in a faux suede or the like. I'd also like to bring the car's exterior color into the interior like the old sports cars, but not in a way that looks like I did it. I haven't found an answer for that one.

I want to get the outside color into the inside of my car too.

I just need a roll-bar, some nice racing buckets, and gut everything else...

Nah, to much work.

The only car I've ever seen that LOOKS OEM when modded is the Toyota Supra (MKIV). Some Sparco Milano's or the like, and a suede wrapped roll cage. Function and form. Looks like it came from the factory like that.
