Games we play

Isn't it great that we're spreading freedom, hope and demockery in the middle east? Isn't it just wonderful that we've gone out of our way (well, sorta) to provide the Iraqis with a future capitalistic society. Soon, they can dance and gleefully celebrate the glories of western culture. It's truly horrible that Sadam used gas on the Kurds. It's evil that he brutally opressed his people. Wait a minute though... who gave Sadam the technology to produce chemical and biological weapons? Was is the Chinese, the Russians or the North Koreans. Oh, that's right it was the US. Who backed Sadam in his bid to stage a coup in Iraq in order to seize power? The Russians? Again, it was the US. So, where will our leader's designs get us this time, I wonder. Maybe the WTO could designate Iraq as the premier vacation spot for Islamic travelers when it becomes the pillar of freedom and democracy in the eastern world.

Nah, I've never seen that movie. This info comes from Amy Goodman on Democracy Now! and books.

I saw it months ago. That image just really stuck in my mind as summing up the situation well.
