Stupid eclipses

Got the ricer flyby today, was on my way home from the gym when some kid races past me in his riced out eclipse. Had the coffee can exhaust hooked onto the tiny exhaust pipe, and some euro taillights that everyone and their mom has. He then promptly turned right. Whats up with the rice? If your gonna do that, you should at least stay and race, even if you do have a RS eclipse.

Every time I get a rice car in at work they always need just about everything. These monekyes drive with no brakes, shot CV joints, bald tires down to the beads, and shot suspension and steering parts. This only makes them more of a menace.

And their cars always smell bad.

Yes. Without starting a "street racing" argument, I'll have to leave it at that. It was one of those moments you see in a video online. "bad ass american muscle" get's beat.

Careful preventing the ricer fly-by. They get realllly peaved if you spoil that, too. I speak from experience.

I think Jason was trying to Reinforce the 'fly' in flyby.. so what? you can get a legacy in the air, too.. if you wanted... speaking from experience on that one, I don't like being airborne so much..

I'll stick to my redline-touch-the-road-side flybys..

 I'm cool, dogg. I keep trying to catch up with you on the streets, though.. and I get the fly-by.. I can see and hear you coming, and I'm always too late!
My legacy is the same color as yours, though.. so if you think you see me, stop and say Hi, eh? I PM'd you.

Now you have to tell us the whole story, you can just leave it at that...

*sigh* OK, but no arguing or anything over this.

I was coming home from work, and I was conciously trying to drive conservatively. I didn't want to race or drive fast, I just wanted to drive home.

A Z28 LS1 Camaro was next to me, and we were next to eachother at a light. He took off, I just tooted along, it was hard, but I didn't go for it.

Next light, he did the same thing.

Finally, I couldn't have it anymore, he was "actin a fool" and had his girlfriend in the car.

Pulled up next at the next light. Crosses were yellow and turning red, so I just double clutched to 1st and was rolling at 5mph. Light went green, right at the other side of the light (after the intersection) he hit it. I saw him hit it, so I dropped the hammer. He was dead even with me as I cleared 3500RPM and started building boost. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, have NEVER swung that fast before.

Top of 3rd, he was a full car off of my rear bumper. He immediately tucked in behind me, and went to make a U-Turn. I continued on my way.

Probably hurts to have your big 5.7L V8, RWD, 6-speed, 'Merican Muscle coupe beaten by a tiny little 4 cylinder with a steroid overdose problem. I wonder if his Girlfriend was laughing at him, or if he was in shock himself that something with half the cylinders and 3.4L less displacement layed the smack down on him, and from a street start no less. "Torque Monster" HA. I think I should get the tag my buddy was thinking of... "V8 HAHA"

Note: The light we took off from was the last light on the stretch to an open highway with no turn-ons. Judging by my gear, it was probably roughly 1/4 mile of being on it.

Very nice. LS1 f-bodies have been known to do high 12s stock.

my friend has a 96 z28 and he runs 13's consistently with only an intake and exhaust. those have 317 whp, and if you only have a stock turbo i dont think you'd be making enough hp to beat him. i would believe you if you had a TD05h. maybe it was a six. those have 160 chp then you would beat him that badly. what psi are you running, you have about the same mods that i do except for the coffee mug. and i cant beat a z28, only the sixes. im running 15psi.

He does have a TD05 16G running 16 psi. I don't know how much hp a legacy makes at that pressure. Oh, i ran into one of those galant vr4's today running a 16G, it was quick but i dont think he was running very high boost, i pulled on him like it was no competition, then we both got side by side and talked for a second, very much a sleeper car tho, i had no idea what it was when it was behind me on my butt. It was like the second galant vr4 i've seen in my life, the other one was parked a couple years ago.

TD05-16G @ 16psi. It was DEFINATELY a V8.

The Butt Dyno, and this recent run leads me to place the car in the 250whp range. I'll know when I have the time to spin on a dyno.

The 96 Z28 had the LT1, this was an LS1 Z28. box stock for stock, the LS1 makes more power. Road and Track puts the LS1 Z28 at a high 13.

Oh, and my exhaust mods are a bit more extensive than "high flow muffler."

I didn't know they made a 6 cylinder z28, i thought that was only the RS. Guess you learn something everyday.

They didn't. If it was a 6-cyl Camaro, it wasn't a Z28. The LT1 Z28 was the same engine as the Impala SS, Buick Roadmaster, the like, that had something like 260hp. The LS1 Z28 was basically a Vette engine detuned, to about 320hp I think.

If I remember correctly, the 93-97 LT1 made 285 hp stock, and the LT1 in the Caprice, Impala SS, and Roadmaster made 260 hp.
