well i searched for a while to no avail.

so here is my question:

is the ej22t an interference motor?

i dont think it is but i want to be sure. the car i am buying should have it replaced soon and i want to know if it i can wait or if i should do a preemptive change on the belt.

thanks

cool, then i can wait till i have the extra cash since if it breaks the only problem is the inconvenience.

and i can then do it myself since im pretty familiar w/the sohc engine.

yep im jumping from the N/A train. i found a smoking deal on a 94 ss. should have it in early dec. just waiting for the curent owner to get a replacement and me to scrape some more dough together.

has a CEL that comes on every now and then. we think its the O2 sensor as it is the original one. its a bit rusty but a good solid running car.

would a bad/clogged cat cause a intermitant CEL?

no. it will just fall on its face power-wise above 4k rpm.

you are refering to the bad cat right?

as that doesnt happen it is more than likely a redundant emissions sensor and nothing to really worry about since the car runs fine.

of course i am incredibly annoyed by unknown CEL lights so i will hook it up and more than likely replace it.
