How much should I pay?

For a '91 Legacy Turbo. It has 153,000 miles on it. All the options. Body is ok (some minor hail damage and a cracked windshield). New brakes, fuel pump, water pump, timing belt. Runs great.
I know what blue book is on it, but I also know that it's a fairly rare car that I really want.

I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of $1800-2500 but I guess thats assuming the hail damage isnt too bad.

She had it listed for $3,700 and I don't think she'll go below $3000.
Anyone know of a nice Turbo Legacy for sale around Colorado

Well the bbv is around $2000 right? $3,700 seems high even though it runs great.

I say go for it. You already found one and you're interested in it.
What's the law in your state about getting a windshield replaced under insurance? My laws here in FL are pretty lax... If I had comprehensive on my car, I could probably get a new windshield now without even having a crack.

3k is extremely high. I got my '93 with only a creased gas door and 97k for $2300. Other than that its in perfect condition.

3000 seems OK.
I paid $3400 for my 94 w/ 97k on it, and it didn't have a dent on it. It did have a dent within 10 minutes of delivery along with a cracked winshied care of my mom and Buicks poor mudflap design (kicked a rock on the highway).

That's a very good price. Go for it. Don't expect to find these magical deals that other people talk about, that's rare. You will never regret it, I'll tell you that much.

Cliff, I agree with Brat4by4. I'd say to pay as much as the car is worth to you. These cars are rare enough that the blue book value isn't necessarily a reliable indicator of the car's value. If you think the car is worth $3700 to you, then why not pay that much if it's necessary?
If you do want to try to convince the seller to reduce the price a little, ask her if maybe she'd go 50-50 with you on replacing the windshield or something like that.
