Well, I finally saw the 92+ headlights, since my brother just bought a 92 SS. WOW, WOW, WOW. Never, even after hearing Vrg3 rant about it, would I have imagined they'd shine that much better. Mine are like dim spot lights, and my brother's car tends to flood light infront of the car. The difference is night and day.

I absolutely must get something worked out for my car now. I don't know if I can ever go back to being ignorant.

yup, yup. I was there, too. I've gotten over it now, and i still think my lights are dim, but that's cause i know i need to sand/coat them. But yes, the 92s are SO MUCH BETTER than the 91s.. it was awesome at first, but after a while, you get ricey, and you still need MORE light thrown out in front of you.. so you feel the need to build yourself an H4 relay.. muhahaha!

I'll be the first to say that no amount of increase in light output is ever enough. The projector beams on the celi made a world of difference compared to my 91, but I'm still gonna upgrade the harness. NEED MORE LIGHT!

Wish I could spend the dough for a stock HID setup

My friend just bought an 04/05 celica, kitted with a 6sp and HIDs after his first one got wrecked by some drunk at like 2am.. for once, HE was the one that was sober.
Lawsuit cars rock. Always.

I rode with him the other day, and the HIDs are something else.. its a ton of light out there.. like having a light bar filled with mag lights or something... its obnoxiously bright, though, so I'm not so sure I like it, just for the safety of other drivers.

The desire to see and be safely seen is not ricey. Most ricers apparently yearn for the opposite.

fook it....I need to put these damn lights in!! I need to go to one of the electronic stores on the weekend and pick up some wire and relays. vrg3....any suggestion on where to buy "upgraded" h4 bulb connectors?

Any recommendation on size wire to run? 12 gauge......or possibly 10?

I suppose I could do the calc and figure out how much current will actually be going through them and decide.....12 would probably be fine.

To get the best ones, email Daniel Stern. He carries some nice ones made by Hella. In fact, you might consider dropping the $45 or so on his DIY kit. The kit includes the connectors, heavy-duty relays, and fuse holders, all of very high quality.

I'd say 12 or 10 gauge is about right. If you think you might want to go with overwattage bulbs any time in the future (your ECE lights have metal reflectors, right? I forget) then 10 is the way to go. At stock wattages 12 should be fine. I went with 10 just because it was about the same cost and effort.

I've also been contemplating the relay upgrade. Just to clarify, we would only need one of the RIK-2 kits?

Yes, I believe that is correct.

I'll email him and see what he's got. I'm not sure about the reflectors being metal. I'll have to double check. I sort of think they're not....but we'll see.

I'll probably just use 10 gauge anyway. I'll have to see about getting inline fuse holder or a fuse distribution block.
