Should I pick up this car?

My friend work at a dealer and they took a '90 or '91 Legacy L AWD wagon in on trade. It's got 168k miles, but the interior is real nice and the exterior is good except for a medium sized dent that's gotten some surface rust. It runs good except the tranny is slipping bad (auto) and it has a CEL. It passed smog. He says it might be wholesaled but if not I can grab it for $175.

I picked up my 92L sedan for $200. Dropped in my 91's engine, and BAM. Instant AWD auto. rebuilt auto trannys can be had for ~$400 if you look. so yes, take it, and fast. you'll be glad you did.

Thanks and good luck!

Oh, and if you can drive it, check for knocking and weird noises in the AWD system.. you'll hear and feel them when you do; report back to us, we'll help you from there.
