new toy

Post by Legacy777 »

hmmm.....4 threads in one day....let alone within a couple hours of each other......yes I'm bored.

I've been wanting an mp3 player for a while now. I was looking at them last christmas and there wasn't many, if any 512mb ones out there. Let alone that had the features I wanted. I liked the creative mp3 players as they were essentially a mass storage device you just hook up to the computer via USB, and drop files on it.

I got this one http://compuhq.com/crlanomutxfm.html

It's pretty nice. The menus are easy to get through, it has an fm tuner, which I didn't really care about, but the non-fm tuner ones were on backorder, and this one was pretty much the same price. It also has voice recording to boot.

The UPS lady dropped it off today. Nice present to myself :)

here's a couple pics

Does it have a built in battery? Or does it take AA or AAA?
Looks pretty nice.

AAA

It really is pretty nice. I bought it mainly to use at the gym. I need to pickup one of those arm bands though.

That's excatly why I want to get one. I've been looking at the iRiver ones, myself. Need to start actually shopping for them again. . . been a while. ;)

Yeah I looked at the iriver ones. The reason I didn't like those is because you need software to transfer files.

I just went to the gym today. My main complaint is the headphones and neck strap. They get all tangled up, and the headphones are too long. I'll probably look into another set of headphones and the arm strap.

welcome.......like I mentioned, I started looking at mp3 players over a year ago, and just didn't like any of the ones they had then. Mainly due to the lack of 512mb players, and options I wanted.

Wow, $125 doesn't seem all that bad.

And I've been looking for a convienent way to transfer files between my laptop and work computer. Both which have USB ports but no cd burner. Plus burning cd's for little crap is sooo wasteful :)

If all you want it for is transferring files, just get a jump drive. It has the same USB drive capability, but costs a shit load less. You can get 1gb for under $100, and probably less.

My brother just got an MP3 player made by Sandisk that actually uses jump drives to store the music. That's kind of neat.

Yeah, something similar to that. There are smaller ones too I believe.

I had seen that sandisk one last year, or something like it. The price was good, but it didn't have much in terms of lcd display or options.
