I wanted to buy a Sony as I am pretty brand loyal when it comes to sony electronics. I also have a gift card from bestbuy so I'm going to but it there. I was wondering what you guys thought of these two models:

the only difference that I can see is the image capture size. more lines of res or something like that. I just plan on getting the more expensive one but I'd like to know what you think or maybe someone could suggest a different one...

The DCRHC-30 & 40 are exactly the same except that the 30 is .7 megapixel and the 40 is 1.3 megapixel. They both come with a 8MB Duo memory card and USB cable (they have i.LINK too but the cable's extra), both have color view finders and touch screen LCD's for menu functions. They're bad ass camcorders.

I really like the DCRHC-85. It's 2.0 megapixel and has the 3.5" LCD. It's also almost twice as much as the 40 though.

Here's the thing with the 30 & 40. If you want to be able to take digital stills then get the 40. If you don't care about stills then get the 30.

Don't buy from Best Buy though, They're the devil and the enemy! Show them no mercy and let the blood flow freely!
