Calling Out For Opinions!

Alright, everybody. Today my dad and I ripped up more of my car, like the driver's side door panel and entire back seat assembly. This didn't come without its pitfalls, though...
There's a lost screw somewhere... the carpeting on the shelf behind the back seat is totally ruined, the "vents" on the shelf have snapped in half, one of the holding clips on a quarter panel shattered, one of the pieces that the holding clips hang on is missing... so essentially, there's a lot of issues due to the age of the car and the fact that none of these parts were altered since 1989.
My first question is for any of you who have attempted to remove the rear shelf and had parts of it ruin themselves, like mine did. Would you simply fabricate a new shelf and new carpeting, or is there a place to buy a replacement?
I'm pretty sure that we'll find the lost screw and hanger-thing... but just in case, does anybody know a place to find such insignificant replacement parts?
The next question is for any of you that have installed aftermarket amplifiers in original model year Legacy sedans. I'm thinking of mounting mine in the trunk, possibly on the red crossmember behind the rear seat. So, what's your advice on where and how to mount the amplifier? For reference, it's too large to be mounted where the stereo used to be, and too large to be mounted under either seat.
That's it for my questions. If you need to know anything more to be able to answer me, then I'll answer as quickly as I can.
Thanks a lot!
