Well, I was out shoveling snow and uncovering cars today... and while I was scraping ice off of the windows on my car, the scraper caught the peeling black trim over my doors. Ripped it right off. See, before, it was only mildly noticeable that the black paint was coming off... but when the scraper hit it was so obvious that I went ahead and scraped off the rest in that section (center section over the doors, on the edge of the roof on both sides) to make it look somewhat uniform.
So should I go ahead and get the rest of the trim removed, or should I repaint it? The real question here is: Silver or Black?
I don't have tinted windows or anything... the pictures on the site in my signature are new enough that you can see what I'm working with.

Well, the trim over the doors is completely gone now, and the car (and I, since I got covered in paint chips) is washed and clean again. I tell ya, driving without the back seat, rear shelf, and passenger door panel is weird! It sounds so loud... and you can hear everything that hits the underside. It sounded like I was dragging snow along as I drove. Just plain weird.
This weekend is the big project for my car. Mounting the sound system, fixing the rear shelf, putting everything back on, getting the brake fluid replaced... it's overhaul time.
As for the trim, until summer I'm not going to do anything with it. If the rest of the black trim chips, I'm going to remove it all... but come summer I'll be fixing it up along with the rear bumper.
Keep voting! Looks like repainting is winning by a majority...

Black because I think having the clear visual outlining of the roof line really adds to the car. Especially when the car is light colored to start with it. Just my humble opinion.
